Kanal D2 is the second channel of the Doğan Media International holding, which owns the TV channel Kanal D Romania. It replaced București TV, a channel owned by Best Mix Media, which also owns Travel Mix Channel, 24 Mix Teleshop, and Party Mix. It was launched on March 27, 2023, in testing at 9:20 AM, and officially launched on April 2, 2023, at 7:00 PM. It broadcasts the 8th season of the show "Bravo, ai stil!" and "Yanxi, palatul suspinelor" (previously aired on TVR 1). Kanal D2 is available on all cable networks where București TV was previously available. On November 10, 2022, according to tvmania.ro, it was announced that Kanal D2 would replace București TV, and according to the same sources, it will broadcast period dramas, drama series, action series, feature films, and Romanian films. Kanal D2 was launched on April 2, 2023, in celebration of the 16th anniversary of Kanal D, and it broadcasted the 8th season of the show "Bravo, ai stil!", which was moved from Kanal D Romania to Kanal D2.
