On September 1, 1965, the first official broadcast of the Semipalatinsk television studio was broadcast. It was the fourth in the Republic after Almaty, Karaganda, Ust-Kamenogorsk Television Studios. It was equipped on a hill on the river bank on the outskirts of the city, in the old building of the upper Irtysh river ship management power plant. A new TV and radio distribution center was built nearby, and a TV tower with a height of 186 meters was erected.
