Național 24 Plus (formerly N24 (2004-2010), and then N24 Plus (2010-2011)) is a private commercial entertainment television channel that broadcasts productions from Național TV as well as its own productions. It is owned by Centrul Național Media. It was founded on August 30, 2004, as N24, a news television channel. On January 7, 2010, N24 became N24 Plus, a generalist channel, and since October 2011, it has been known as Național 24 Plus, broadcasting 50% of the shows, movies, and series from Național TV and the remaining 50% as its own productions. Național 24 Plus is owned by Viorel and Ioan Nicula, the majority shareholders of European Drinks, and is available on all cable networks in Romania. On March 1, 2022, nearly 18 years after its launch, Național 24 Plus transitioned completely to the 16:9 format overnight. As a result, advertising is now broadcasted with the logo in 16:9, and channel promos and commercials for series and shows are entirely broadcasted in the 16:9 format, eliminating the black bars at the top and bottom.
