TV JOJ is a private Slovak television channel owned by J&T Enterprises and launched in March 2002. The channel broadcasts drama series and TV shows. TV JOJ is the flagship television channel of JOJ Media House, one of the two main commercial television broadcasters in Slovakia. The start of the new JOJ television was supposed to bring a competitive environment to Slovakia, because the commercial market was dominated by TV Markíza. The broadcast of Joj began on March 2, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. with the Noviny show with the presenter duo Dana Roháčová and Branislav Ondruš. Sport with Peter Hollý followed. The whole preparatory period was marked by "Boredom ends in Slovakia". Currently, TV JOJ is full-format television in Slovakia.
